Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas) called out Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) for not being able to handle the heat from flames she helped ignite after the Republican lawmaker announced her resignation from Congress.

On Friday (November 21), Greene announced that she would be resigning from Congress in January following her public split with President Donald Trump over efforts to release the Epstein files.

Crockett slammed Greene for not being able to "take the heat" from Trump after she previously "fanned the flames of hate."

“Honestly, I was like, ‘You got to be kidding me,’” Crockett said during CNN's "State of the Union." “You’re on the other side of the president for one week and you can’t take the heat? Imagine what it is to sit in my shoes… to have people like her who are constantly fanning the flames of hate.”

In her resignation statement, Greene said she endured “nonstop, never-ending personal attacks, death threats, lawfare, ridiculous slander, lies," and pressure she claimed that few could withstand.

Crockett, however, pushed back against Greene's comments, calling her an “instigator” who helped fuel harassment within the MAGA movement.

“I don’t know if she fully understood how bad she was making it for other people,” Crockett said. “Now that they’re doing it to her… why is it that everyone else is able to stand and you can’t?”

The two lawmakers have long clashed publicly. During a 2024 hearing, Greene infamously took a jab at Crockett's eyelashes. Greene also claimed earlier this year that Crockett didn't understand "the Black American struggle." Despite their long-standing feud, Crockett offered Greene sympathy online after Trump withdrew his endorsement backing the Georgia Republican last week.

“I told you not to trust him… he never loved you," Crockett said.

Greene's resignation marks another rupture within the Republican Party. The GOP lawmaker is reportedly considering a presidential run in 2028 after stepping down from Congress.
